Plus, congratulations to the Marley team on taking home the award for Best Reggae Album - “One Love”-Music Inspired by the Film (various artists). And, of course, we must give a shout out to the living legend, Vybz Kartel who looked dapper on the red carpet - next to his sweetheart, Sidem. Fresh off his massively successful “Freedom Street Concert” in Jamaica last December, the acclaimed World Boss and newly declared, King of Dancehall, Vybz Kartel is reportedly in the United States. According to media sources, Kartel has landed in Florida and plans to arrive in Los Angeles to attend the 67th GRAMMY® this Sunday. The artiste’s US visa was reportedly reinstated this week, after an almost two-decade absence from the USA.
Arguably, the biggest name in dancehall, Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was recently released from incarceration, following an overturned conviction in Jamaica. He has since maintained his dominance in dancehall and already secured multiple business/entertainment deals. No doubt, a living legend in his genre, Kartel’s return to the GRAMMY® is major news for his millions of fans worldwide.
Vybz Kartel’s “Party With Me,” is among this year’s nominees for Best Reggae Album. Other contenders in the category are, “One Love” -Music Inspired by the Film (various artists), “Never Gets Late Here” by Shenseea, “Take It Easy” by Collie Budz, and “Evolution” by The Wailers.
In a release sent to myKEEtv, GRAMMY® announced that Anthony Kiedis & Chad Smith, Cardi B, Gloria Estefan, Olivia Rodrigo, Queen Latifah, SZA, Taylor Swift, Victoria Monét, and Will Smith are among the latest presenters added to the line-up for music’s biggest night. Trevor Noah, award-winning comedian/writer/television host from South Africa, will host the show. The Recording Academy announced last week that this year’s telecast is aimed at raising funds for Los Angeles wildfire relief efforts.
The 67th annual GRAMMY® is scheduled for Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles and will air on CBS Television Network, Sunday, February 2 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
